Lakeside Christian School is approved to receive the McKay Scholarship for students with an IEP or 504 Plan from a Florida Public School. The McKay Scholarship covers a portion of the school’s tuition for the regular school and intervention programs. After a meeting with School Administration, a formal education plan and tuition proposal is developed based upon your student’s needs.

Lakeside Christian School is one of very few Florida private schools that possess the comprehensive, layered intervention programs necessary to benefit a student with a defined learning disability in a mainstream environment. If your child is approved for the McKay Scholarship and your desire is an improvement in their ability to learn at grade level, then it is important that you find a school employing research-based programs and qualified staff to assist in your child’s education.

It is important that you review all of the McKay Scholarship qualifications before you withdraw your student from the Florida Public School system. Early withdrawal may result in your being denied the McKay Scholarship.

The McKay Scholarship Program does not require participating Private Schools to accept all students who apply. Lakeside Christian School provides specific programs for students with an IEP or 504 Plan for a specific learning disorder, ADD, or ADHD, who are able to operate in a mainstream school environment with average classroom size. Lakeside Christian School does not have program’s to assist student’s with behavioral or emotional disorders or students who have an IQ in the below average ranges.
