Elementary Curriculum
|
This program for children age 5 through 5th grade seeks to encourage their total development. The basic academic thrust of kindergarten is preparation for reading. Reading is basic to all education. Our most direct communication form God in written form is the Bible. "Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God" (Rom. 10:17).To hear these truths, someone had to write them, and another to read them. Also, as Christians, we need to be able to read so that we may "grow in grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ" (2 Pet. 3:18)
The A-BEKA and Bob Jones curriculums are employed in the teaching of reading and language arts and Saxon is employed for mathematics in the elementary programs.
